| | usually my line is good but I either end hitting it to hard or too soft, I need to develop a consistent touch, any thoughts? I normally average around 32 putts per round, but know that I could easily reduce this by 4 or 5 shots if I had better control. My handicap is 15 and I'd like to get lower but don't feel this will happen until my putting improves. I currently use a 2-ball putter and struggle more on the longer putts. |

| | Thanks Janeth, but to be honest this site looks like it's trying to sell books on improving your game, and there is very little content, if any, on the site itself with tips for game improvement...seems like you need to buy their book before you get this info, so I'm giving this site a miss. |

| Yeah i have found that club pro's are usually excellent and can improve your game no end!!!
I have had a few lessons and as long as you play regularly you can use the pro's advice to good results. It certainly helped me

| i got to 10 handicap by practising the following putting- first if your backswing is too long you will be compensating on the downswing and follow through which will make it very difficult to judge distance.
I now have several feet width positions for different length putts, feet close together for short putts, slightly wider for 10-15 feet putts, wider for 15-30 ft etc etc....you decide how many different widths u need, then make a smooth backswing only as far as your back foot and an equally smooth follow through slightly past your front foot.....with a lot of practice this can knock shots off your round, you will find that no matter what length of putt you will either knock the ball in the hole or leave it at the side for a tap in. golden rule being no matter how wide your feet are NEVER make a backswing past your back foot. |

| Thanks biglee, thats a great tip and I've been trying it out tonight. I had some great results with the main one being of consistency in the distance! Cheers
