| I played in a society event last week at the Kendleshire in South Gloucestershire where a few of our society members opted to take a buggy, rather than walk.
On the third hole I noticed that our playing partners buggy had a new GPRS system fitted which told them how far they had left to the hole. Now I know that this information can be had from course planners, but I was under the impression that an electronic gadget such as this is regarded, in competitive golf, as an 'outside aid' and therefore illegal.
I brought this up afterwards in the clubhouse and, not surprisingly, it sparked off a very heated debate. What I'd like to know is whether or not this is allowed in competitive golf.... any thoughts/opinions/views would be most welcome.

| | I think it is the club that decides whether you can use them or not. |

| | Hi there, sorry if this is out of date but you are probably aware now that GPS gadgets are legal, as the R & A issued some rule change some time ago....in fact i'm just off tomorrow to buy one. |
