| Has anyone used the virtual golf society or any other similar sites to find local playing partners - what was your experience?
Would this forum be a possible way to link up with golfers local to members?

| | Hi Phil, Seems like it might be useful to have a Forum set up here possibly called "Get out and Play" where members looking to play a round of golf could get in touch with others by setting up an invivation. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, or anyone elses. I'd also suggest trying VGS as they have a system that is specifically set up for organising events. Forum Admin |

| An area on the forum sounds a great idea - especially if it takes off in terms of membership - feels a bit lonely at the moment
VGS is an idea I have considered and I was hoping to hear of other peoples experience of this....

| | Hi Phil, I have added a forum 'Get Out and Play' as discussed. Although there are not many members here at the moment, it may be worth placing an invite there as it may encourage others who read the forum, but have not yet registered, to respond. |

| Hi Phil,
My name is Simeon Herbert, and I created The Virtual Golf Society.
I am sure Tam (EGS) will not mind me telling you about the simple way that VGS works! It is very much like you would arrange a game with friends.
Someone creates an event at a course, by this I mean, he/she says "I fancy playing golf in two weeks and at this golf course". They would then call of their friends to see who is available, then once they know how many are going they would call the course and book a tee time, then they would call everyone again to let them know the tee time and you would all turn up and play golf - sound familiar?
VGS is the same only simpler.
Someone creates an event, which is a "Do you fancy playing golf?" listing the date and course. The system then sends an email to everyone within 40 miles of the course asking them to join you. They say yes or no and the system tracks who wants to play, so they then call the course and book the tee times. Put the tee times on the site, or email everyone and you go and play golf!!!
It's that simple, you can create an event or join anyone else's. We give you your first event free (you still need to pay green fees, but you can try us for free without having to pay our annual fee) and if you are a member of Elite Golf Solutions you get a discount when you join my site.
We also offer society days and competitions - keep an eye out as we are off to The Shire, Seve's new course!
Hope this helps, I feel that together with Elite Golf Solutions our two sites offer you everything you need to meet new people and play more golf and to ensure you have your handicap with EGS.
Thanks
Simeon.
