Hi, this is my first effort so here goes, I would like to confirm a ruling made recently at my club:

I was playing a monthly medal with three other players, I exchanged cards with one of them so we could mark scores. All was well to the ninth hole, on the ninth the guy I was marking hit his drive and it went in trees, he played a provisional ball. He found 'his ball' and continued with that, at the end of the hole he said he had a seven, which I agreed and wrote down. As he was about to play his drive off the tenth he said he had the wrong ball, he did not want to go back to the ninth tee so he disqualified himself. On his card on the tenth hole I wrote N/R (No return). I later found out that the committee not only disqualified him but disqualified me aswell because I left the 7 on the ninth hole when he had not completed it. Is this correct ?????????

Forum Post No, the committee was incorrect to disqualify you as well. Read Rule 6.6... By Cardinal Biggles (12/09/2008 02:23:14)
