| Well I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting really excited about the forthcoming Ryder Cup with the anticipation of another resounding victory over the Yanks. There was a long stretch up to 1983 when were unable to beat them, but since then we've had 6 wins (4 of those were from the last 5 events) to their 3 wins with one draw.
Having won the last cup with such ease, on American soil, European confidence must be pretty high at the moment.
I'm not sure why there's been such a turnaround in European performance over the past decade or so, maybe we're just better team players, maybe just better players full stop. I'd be interested to anyone elses thoughts on this.
Monty (not Colin, by the way)

| As much as I love European golf I have a doubt that Europe will win this one....Ive never been a big fan of Woosnam and I just don't see him getting the team going...I hope I'm wrong but I think the USA team under Lehman will win it...

| I have to say I agree. Woosie seems to be doing a grand job of setting us up to fail at the moment and this contrasts harshly with the sort of bonding the americans have been doing:-( Still whatever happens I think we can look forward to seeing some good golf |

| | Well Phil I must admit that I did share your feeling regarding Woosie as the captain but feel that I owe him a big apology for the great job he appears to have done - certainly his players have shown great respect for his role. Three in a row...does the term hat-trick apply to golf as well? What a fantastic result and a brilliant weekend of golf. Playing Darren Clarke was the correct decision, on many levels - well done Woosie, what a good shout. |
