| | I have recently started golfing with a friend of mine that golfs with every club except his putter right handed and putts left handed. I told him he could not do that because he can't have a left handed club in his bag. What is the rule on this? |

| Hi Spronk,
There is absolutely nothing in the Rules that forbids a player playing a left handed stroke with a right handed club.
You may even have seen pro's on TV turning a club to face 'toe down' in order to play a shot left handed because it is impossible to play right handed.

| Hi Spronk,
I'm sorry, I misread your question.
You are saying he has a right handed set of clubs apart from a left handed putter.
Again, absolutely nothing in the Rules against this whatsoever.

| In fact a putter may have two faces,so the player may use it right or left handed.
appendix ii 4
d. Striking Faces
The clubhead must have only one striking face, except that a putter may have two such faces if their characteristics are the same, and they are opposite each other.
