Hi,

I'm a committe member of Driving Force golf society and thought I'd use this forum to see if anyone in the Bristol area is interested in joining our society or even just coming along for a game now and again. We have 32 members and approximately 24 or us meet once a month playing courses around the Bristol area.

They're a great bunch of lads and always make newcomers very welcome, with handicaps ranging from 6 to 28, with the majortiy being 14 or higher.

Last month we played Monmouth GC and yesterday The Kendleshire, next month we will be playing The Isle of Wedmore (Somerset) so if you're interested, or would like some more info, then please drop me a line.

Monty

Hi Monty
I play with the Gophers golf society once a month, we are quite new with 16 players at the moment, I was wondering if you would like a " game " against us ? we are not all that far from Bristol....we come from the Salisbury area, just over an hour away.
We also have some cracking golf courses down our way if you would like to visit us.
I would say at the moment we muster about 12 guy's together once a month, Our Handicaps range from 20 to 28.
Hope to hear from you.
Russ

Hi Russ,

Thanks for the invite, we had tried to set up a competion recently with another society but they have let us down as they can't make it until next summer as they've made all of thier bookings - to flipping organised for my liking. Anyway, your offer to play is most welcome and I'd like to see if we can take you up on it.

We are due to play (yet to be booked) at Bowood possibly Sept/Oct as they have some good offers on due to green maintenance being carried out, so this may be a suitable venue that would be easy reach for both societies. Let me know what you think or, if you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Monty

Hi Russ,

Had a chat with our committee about playing your society and, although they are in favour of doing it, it's preferred not to do it during our October event as we hold our AGM after the match, once we've eaten.  I'll get back to you shortly with some other possible dates/venues to see if we can set something up.

Monty

I am a new user and live in Chepstow, not too far from your golfing society and due to not being a member of any particular club, please can you send me the detials on how I go about joining your society, as most of my golf is played either side of the Severn Bridge these days.

cheers

Hi Glynn,

Thanks for your interest. We do play some games over South Wales as well, we have one coming up next year in Coleford and Dewstow.

We currently have around 30 members and usually aim to get around 20 - 24 to each event, once a month. Could you send me a Private Message in this forum with your email address and phone number then I can contact you regarding coming along to some of our events.
